Tacloban City and Eastern Visayas get extra publicity mileage as a tourist destination via gerryruiz‘ photos and “reports” which got published again in this month’s issue of Philippine Airlines’ Mabuhay Magazine.

gerryruiz‘ contribution entitled, “Tacloban: Gateway to the Leyte/Samar Region” which appears at page 58 of the inflight magazine, features destinations off the beaten path appealing more to tourists seeking the road less traveled in search of rustic and non-touristy sites found only in the provincial areas of the country.

Magazine copies are onboard PAL’s international and domestic flights and at their Mabuhay Lounges at airport terminals.

Eastern Visayas destinations which got featured in the magazine:

San Juanico Bridge at daybreak

The mystical island of San Pedro in Hinunangan, Southern Leyte

Near the entrance of Sohoton Caves in Sohoton, Basey, Samar

The pristine, placid waters of Lake Danao up in the mountains of Tongonan, Leyte

The rock formations at Marabut, Samar

Basey, Samar’s colorful ticog mats

The once-imeldific Sto. Niño Shrine along Real St., Tacloban City
