Year 2011 was no doubt a year for photo enthusiasts. With an unprecedented growth in sales of DSLR’s and mobile phones, tablets and computers with digital cameras, I doubt if there ever was any other time in mankind’s history when there were just as many people snapping away photos all the time.

Looking back at the year just passed, still nursing a hangover of the holidays, I was struck with the number of subjects I was able to cover – from birding to weddings and beauty tilts to travel destinations; from the time I had a glaucoma attack and subsequent laser procedure down to baby pictures and awesome adventure rides and treks in far-flung areas.

Thus I decided to compile my favorites and share them with you for a brief replay of gerryruiz images of 2011.

I hope you like it. Cheers!

Allow me to share the slideshow presentation of  Kharen Florentino & John Paul Laguilles Nuptials held October 21, 2011 at Rafael’s Farm in Babatngon, Leyte.

This event was a first for us, the documentarists, in so many ways – the prenup was a unique one; we had the shoot at Zip So. Leyte at Agas-Agas Bridge in Sogod, So. Leyte and at a river in Abuyog, Leyte. Also, it was for me the first garden wedding documentation at beautiful Rafael’s Farm in Babatngon, Leyte. The final slideshow shown here also incorporates for the first time both still photos and videos taken during the prenuptials.

Hope you like it.

The past few days got me back to shooting a prenuptial and other attendant activities leading to the grand wedding of one enviable, fun-loving couple – Micay Gutierrez and Andre Arandia – both currently based in the United States but who decided to have their formal church wedding at their hometown in Tacloban City to be with relatives and friends.

Here’s one scene I particularly love during their prenuptial as the day was about to end at the San Juanico Golf and Country Club at Cabalawan, Tacloban City…

Due to the nature of their work (they are both cabin crew attendants of an international airline) Fresa and Mike are oftentimes crisscrossing the oceans and can be anywhere in the globe at any point in time.

But even when they decided to tie the knot in Manila, they took time to come home to Tacloban days later to celebrate a postnuptial party with family and friends.

Naturally, there was going to be some fun time and a funshoot!

View slideshow I presented during their  postnuptial celebration party held October 16, 2010 at the Le Jardin, Tacloban City:
