Year 2011 was no doubt a year for photo enthusiasts. With an unprecedented growth in sales of DSLR’s and mobile phones, tablets and computers with digital cameras, I doubt if there ever was any other time in mankind’s history when there were just as many people snapping away photos all the time.

Looking back at the year just passed, still nursing a hangover of the holidays, I was struck with the number of subjects I was able to cover – from birding to weddings and beauty tilts to travel destinations; from the time I had a glaucoma attack and subsequent laser procedure down to baby pictures and awesome adventure rides and treks in far-flung areas.

Thus I decided to compile my favorites and share them with you for a brief replay of gerryruiz images of 2011.

I hope you like it. Cheers!

  3. Dear Gerry,

I do not just simply admire your art; I love it and can’t help getting wowed by the awesome power of artistic talent at its best because to me your collection is photography based on a seminal philosophy that appeals not jut to the sensual but more to the intellectual side of this humble follower. In short, it not only captures my imagination, it also inspires me to read and research on your subjects – like the bird species, for instance. I guess, this makes you a breed apart in so many ways and I feel extremely proud to have made not just your acquaintance but you friendship, as well.

Do take care of your health – your eyes, most especially, as they see more of what is real and palpable than most of us with 20/20 vision. My kind of photographer is the one that makes me think, not just figuratively, and inspires me to write accolades of thanks to our Creator for having brought you into this world. Thank you Gerry for your gift!

    • I am most humbled by your kind words, Athena. And more than that, very much thankful for the affirmation on how connecting sublime thoughts to viewers has fared. Cheers to life!
